The responsibility of healthcare communnity has increased during these tough times when Islamic geography has become a complete mess. In today’s world, hundreds of Muslims get killed or injured, become refugees, are left starving and homeless everyday. We believe that we, as NGOs which operate in healthcare fields, have a great deal of activities to conduct at an international level. Saglik-Der, one of the prominent NGOs of Turkey, is aware of this responsibility.

"Saglik-Der is an organization which was founded in 1991 with the order of deceased Prof. Dr. Necmettin ERBAKAN, has pioneered many innovations in healthcare field in Turkey and besides has lent a helping hand in terms of healthcare after earthquakes, during wars and in refugee camps in countries and areas such as Syria, Palestine, Gaza, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Chechnya and Bosnia.."

Our organization which lends support and consultancy services to policy makers in respect to the improvement of student activities, national and international aid campaigns and health policies as well as cooperation with many NGOs on a national and international basis observed that although there are a large number of NGOs active on the same level, there is no cooperation in between in the Islamic world.

In order to overcome this deficiency Saglik-Der, led to Muslim NGOs which are active in healthcare fields in different parts of the world come together and get to know each other better and with aim of being a fundamental building stone in the provision of World Islamic Health Union between 02-04 December 2016 in Istanbul the organization of the World Muslim Health Societies Congress. The main theme of this meeting was "Migration and Health". With the panels and commission meetings were discussed health and social security issues of Islamic geography and solution suggestions. Decisions were made for the common use of human resources and financial facilities.

As a result of the consultations held in this Congress, also supported by President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, it was decided to establish the "World Muslim Health Union” with the unity of the vote. The founding council, advisory board, general secretary was elected. We want to make a power union that will be ointment to wounds in the Islamic Geography.

World Muslim Health Union was established with this congress where from all over the world 110 Muslim civil health organizations from 65 countries came together. It was decided that the center of this union would be Turkey and Ankara. For this reason, Turkey's reputation in the Islamic world and world health community will be very high.
